The Moss 722 chronograph celebrates this amazing victory of the fabulous Mille Miglia on May 1st 1955. With Denis Jenkinson navigating via ‘the bog roll’ and Stirling Moss at the wheel the pair averaged just under 100mph for ten plus hours on the public Italian roads. This was without doubt one of Stirling Moss’s most memorable drives piloting the awesome Mercedes 300slr through the adrenalin packed 1000 km to victory in record time. A world wide edition of just 272 Chronographs will be created and each dial will be hand signed by Stirling Moss.
Each watch will arrive in a superb presentation display box which is also signed and numbered by Sir Stirling Moss (subject to availability). Finished in polished German stainless steel each watch comes with 3 Austrian high quality leather straps complete with strap change tool. The movement is the renowned Swiss Valjoux ETA 7750 Chronograph movement with a quick change calendar water resistant to 5 atm. The face glass is Italian Sapphire.
‘Enclosed to the rear of each watch is an actual section of Stirling Moss’ last ever racing suit worn at the Le Mans 24hr in 2011. The section of race suit was worn by Stirling when he announced his retirement from racing at Le Mans.
